Abstract

Autonomous enterprise security governance is becoming essential as organizations increasingly adopt cloud-native architectures, distributed applications, hybrid infrastructures, and multi-cloud environments. Traditional security governance approaches frequently depend on static policies, manual approvals, and reactive threat detection, limiting their ability to respond effectively to dynamic enterprise risks. This research proposes an intelligent security governance framework integrating agentic artificial intelligence (AI) with cloud-native policy orchestration to improve security automation, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. The framework employs specialized AI agents to continuously monitor infrastructure activities, analyze security events, evaluate policy violations, prioritize risks, and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions. Cloud-native technologies, including container orchestration, policy-as-code, identity management, security monitoring, and automated compliance validation, provide the operational foundation. A centralized governance layer establishes policy consistency, accountability, and controlled authorization across distributed enterprise environments. The proposed methodology combines architectural modeling, simulated enterprise workloads, threat scenarios, policy evaluation, and comparative performance analysis to assess detection accuracy, response latency, compliance coverage, and automation effectiveness. Human oversight, explainable decisions, least-privilege access, and auditable execution are incorporated to reduce unintended autonomous actions. The framework aims to demonstrate how agentic AI can strengthen adaptive governance while maintaining organizational control and regulatory accountability. The research contributes an integrated approach for developing scalable, context-aware, and resilient enterprise security governance systems capable of supporting evolving cloud-native operations and increasingly complex cybersecurity requirements.
